Size guide

Last updated 28 September 2026

The letters on a BANIYAN piece are body measurements, not a guess at a garment that already exists. The cut is relaxed. The cloth is not cut until the size is chosen.

Chest, level, not pulled tight

01How to measure

Chest is the fullest part, tape level, over a light layer. Waist is the narrowest part, usually above the navel. Stand straight. Do not pull the tape tight enough to change the number.

The same letters — XXS through XL — are used for women and for men. The centimetres behind them are not the same. Read the chart for the collection you are buying.

04Between sizes

If you sit between two letters, size up for hoodies, sweatshirts, and joggers. Take your usual letter for tees and underwear. The cloth is midweight loopback: it softens, and it is not cut to cling.

A product page repeats this in short form, next to the size buttons. This page is the full chart.

05Before the cloth is cut

There is no rail of the next size waiting in a back room. Once the order is placed, the piece is cut to the letter you chose. That is why a change of mind after production begins is limited. The rule is in shipping and returns.

If a measurement still does not settle, write through the contact form with your chest, your waist, and the style. We reply within one to two business days.
