Privacy policy

We collect what an order needs, and very little else. A BANIYAN piece is cut after you ask for it, so the details we hold are the ones required to make it, ship it, and answer you.
01Who we are
BANIYAN sells premium everyday basics. Pieces are made to order in certified European facilities and shipped across the EU and the United Kingdom. This policy describes what we hold about you when you browse, write to us, or place an order.
02What we collect
- Order details. The name, email, shipping address, and the pieces you buy. Payment is taken by the payment provider. We do not store the full card number.
- Messages. What you send through the contact form, including the email you want the reply sent to.
- The bag and the shipping location. Stored in your browser so the shop can show a price and keep the drawer. See the cookie policy for the exact list.
- Analytics. Pages opened and products viewed, and only after you choose Accept on the cookie banner.
We do not buy marketing lists, and we do not ask for more than the order, the message, or the measurement you have allowed.
03Why we use it
Each record has a job.
- To make the order. The factory needs the size, the colour, and the quantity. Nothing is cut before that.
- To ship it. The carrier needs a name and an address in a country we deliver to.
- To answer you. A question about fit, a delay, or a faulty piece needs the message you sent and, if there is an order, its number.
- To write to you about the shop. Only if you subscribe to the newsletter. You can stop that from any message we send.
04Who receives it
We share an order with the workshop that cuts and sews it, the carrier that delivers it, and the payment provider that takes the payment. They receive only what that step needs.
We do not sell personal data. We do not pass your address to advertisers. If the law requires a disclosure, we limit it to what was asked for.
05How long we keep it
Order records stay for as long as tax and consumer law in the EU require, and are deleted after that. A support message is kept while the question is open and for a short time after, so we can find it if you write again. Analytics, if you allowed it, is kept for up to thirteen months.
Storage in your own browser, including the bag, lasts until you clear it. We cannot delete that from our side.
06Your rights
If you are in the EU or the United Kingdom you can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it where the law allows. You can object to a newsletter at any time. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Send the request through the contact form. Include the email used on the order so we can find the right record. We reply within one to two business days, and we complete the request within the time the law sets.
07Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. An order already placed stays under the policy that applied when you paid, except where the law requires otherwise.
